The WGS-EOV converter (or, another name, the WGS-ETRS89 converter) is a tool that can convert WGS84 point clouds to the Hungarian EOV projection. Hungary's projection is a slant-axis pierced cylinder projection, which has an official elevation correction grid as well, it is not straight forward to properly convert a point cloud between WGS and EOV. The converter uses the official EHT2 formula to perform the conversion. The tool is capable of converting WGS (geocentric) to EOV, EOV to WGS (lat, long), and EOV to WGS (geocentric). The tool can also use the older (EHT2014) and the newer (EHT2) formula for the conversion. The tool can convert point clouds (LAS, LAZ), trajectories (Riegl text trajectory format; please check this article for more info), Riegl Image list (CSV), TopoDOT Image List (part of the TopoDOT IPRJ standard, .LST), and SHP files as well.
The description of the options are the following:
WGS - Select the input file(s) or folder(s). If the conversion is EOV to WGS, the name changes to EOV, indicating the conversion source's type. Select a single file using the File button or a folder using the Folder button. After the browser window opens, the user can select the file type to be converted.
EOV - The output file location and name. If the conversion results an EOV file, it will suffix the file with _eov, if a WGS file, it will suffix the file with _wgs.
Transformator selector - The user can select the conversion type and the converter settings here as the following:
After the settings are made and the files are selected, pressing the START button will perform the conversion. The logging area will display the currently converting file.
