Understanding these 2 points is crucial for using the software, as many tools refer to these. Both points are usable only in the 3D view.
The target point is the centre of the rotation point, around which the user can rotate the 3D view. In general cases, the point can be relocated with a double-left click. The assignment of the target point is snap-sensitive, which means that the respective snap mode shall be turned on to select a point cloud or vector point. The target point can be visualised with axes by pressing the 'A' button in 3D view. The target point will be moved as the user zooms in and out and pans the view. Assigning a new target point will reset the zooming level for the camera. The 3D view camera focus point and the target point can handle only a limited amount of zooming, so if the user does not assign the target point frequently, the movement will be sluggish in the 3D view. If the 3D view gets odd, always use the double-left-click to re-assign the target point, which will restore the movement.
The 3D marker point is a remnant function from the stereo extraction toolkit introduced in the early days of the software. The stereo functionality has been removed since, but the marker point remained. This point can indicate something in 3D view; for example, locate an object in 3D view upon selecting it from the attribute table. The 3D marker appears as a white 3D cross and can be resized from the 3D Main Toolbar - 3D view settings option.
Press the space button to move the 3D marker, which will stick to the cursor. When the space button is pressed again, the marker will be released. The 3D marker's movement is three-dimensional but cannot be adequately controlled in 3D view. The user can "put it away" using the space button if it's in the wrong location.
IMPORTANT! - As long as the marker point is active (stuck to the cursor), drawing and modification functions might work oddly or not. If the user experiences no drawing or modification functions work, it might be worth checking if the space button has been pressed by accident.
The 3D marker received a toggle button in the 3D view - Main Toolbar. This toggle can have a hotkey assigned (not assigned by default). If selected, the marker point snaps to the mouse cursor, the drawing or modification functions might work oddly or not at all. If the toggle is active, the icon's background turns to red. Press again to deactivate the marker.
