The general settings panel is the main settings panel for the whole software, where the user can modify the default software settings. The user can reach it by clicking the General Settings icon in the Main Window at the Standard Toolbar.
The description of each setting is the following:
Buffer size [MByte] - Set the buffer size for classification. Adjusting the value will affect the classification speed.
LAS save mode - This setting affects whether the software will ask the user to save the LAS files. If turned to False, the software will not ask the user if the LAS file modification shall be saved. It is recommended that it be kept on True value.
Create backup - This setting sets whether the .bak file is generated upon optimizing a file.
Optimizer type - This setting affects the default optimizer settings, which can also be reached from File/LAS Settings. Please refer to the Optimization section for more info.
Use default value - If the LAS settings have the Default checkbox on or off. If the value is False, the software will ask for the optimization setting for each loaded LAS file.
Selected Color - Set the default color for the DXF entities.
Marker size - Set the marker size for geophotos in 2D view.
Active tool - Set the background colour on the active toolbar. If a tool is selected, it remains with this colour on the toolbar when it's active. It does not apply if a tool has been activated using a hotkey.
Toolbar style - Set the toolbar style using this setting. For old-school users, it is a fun setting to be changed :)
Tooltip style - Set the tooltip style using this setting.
Use Large Icons - The user can oversize the toolbar icons with this setting.
Always use profile - Use the selected profile. The function is currently not usable.
Always use profile name - Select the always-used profile. The function is currently not usable.
Default Encoding CodePage for DBF string - The function is currently not usable.
Save Warning Interval - This setting can affect how often the software warns users to save their work. If set to 0, the function is turned off. See more details on saving your work by clicking here.
TIN shading azimuth - Azimuth angle for the "sun" when using the TIN function.
TIN shading verticle angle - Verticle angle setting for the TIN function.
Viewer - Set the panorama viewer external software's path. Currently unavailable.
Count - The number of recent operations that can be undone. Set the value between 0-25.
Pop-up after exit operation - Currently not available function.
Count - Adjust the number of the recent vectors that appear right-click outside a command.
Detailed information - When using info on an SHP, it will provide advanced information if the setting is True.
Marker size - Marker size for an SHP point.
Selected color - The selected SHP's colour. The SHP object changes its colour after selection, and the user can control this colour with this setting.
Automatic Reload - Reload the 3D view if the colour settings have been changed.
Auto focus - This function turns off zoom in 2D view using the mouse. If this setting is False, the user can only use the scale in the 2D view toolbar to adjust the zoom level.
